What is LV Muslim Microschool?

LV Muslim Microschool offers a structured, faith-based classroom environment for homeschooling families in Las Vegas. We are an alternative to traditional school, combining in-person instruction, Islamic enrichment, and a WASC-accredited curriculum (powered by Schoolio). Families retain full homeschool rights while benefiting from a consistent academic routine rooted in Islamic values.

Who is this for?

LV Muslim Microschool is designed for:

  • Families currently homeschooling or planning to begin
  • Students in Grades 1 through 7 (must be age 6 by the time of enrollment)
  • Parents seeking a classroom-based learning experience without enrolling in public or private school

What are the program details?

  • Days: Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday
  • Time: 8:30 AM – 2:00 PM (drop-off begins at 8:15 AM)
  • Dates: September 1 – May 27
  • Location: Masjid Al-Noor (additional sites may open based on demand)
  • Tuition: $270/month per child (introductory pricing, 10-month plan)
  • Registration & Tech Fee: $125 (one-time, per child)

Is it in-person or online?

Our program is classroom-based and in-person.

  • Students attend on-site classes 3 days per week.
  • We use Schoolio’s WASC-accredited online platform, but all lessons and activities are completed in class, on student-owned laptops.
  • There is no daily online work at home.
  • Students may receive light at-home work on Thursdays (reading, review, or practice), but parents are not required to teach the curriculum themselves.

What do you provide?

We provide:

  • A complete, standards-aligned curriculum (Schoolio)
  • A structured classroom routine
  • Academic coaching and small group instruction
  • Islamic reminders and values woven into the school day
  • Peer interaction and social development

Parents remain the legal homeschool educators and must file a Notice of Intent (NOI) to homeschool with the state of Nevada. LV Muslim Microschool provides the structure, support, and classroom environment to guide your child’s learning and make your homeschool journey smoother and more sustainable.

Do I have to teach my child at home?

No. Parents do not need to teach the curriculum themselves.

  • All core instruction takes place in class, led by our team of trained Tarbiya Coaches.
  • Parents are responsible for oversight, legal documentation (NOI), and encouraging good habits at home.
  • Thursday assignments are light and designed for independent reinforcement.

How is this different from a private school or co-op?

LV Muslim Microschool is a nonprofit learning program designed for homeschoolers. We are not a private school and do not take over your legal responsibility as an educator.

What makes us different:

  • Small class sizes (capped at 15 learners per group)
  • Learning held in familiar, Islamic spaces like the masjid
  • Curriculum powered by Schoolio (WASC-accredited)
  • Flexibility of homeschooling + support of structured classroom learning

Can my child transition to public/private school later?

Yes. Since we use a WASC-accredited curriculum, students have a smoother path if transitioning to another school in the future. However, each school district or private school will have its own enrollment process, and families are responsible for submitting homeschool records.

Why only 3 days?

Research shows that quality of instruction matters more than quantity. Our 3-day model is designed to:

  • Maximize focus and minimize distraction
  • Build in rest and processing time
  • Leave space for family, enrichment, and Islamic life

Studies show most students receive just 90-120 minutes of true academic learning per day in traditional classrooms. We use small groups and focused instruction to deliver more impact in less time.

What grades do you serve?

For Fall 2025, we are enrolling:

  • Students in Grades 1 through 7
  • Children must be age 6 by the time of enrollment

How do I enroll?

  • Step 1: Submit the application form
  • Step 2: Pay the one-time registration fee to hold your child’s spot
  • Step 3: Watch for your Welcome Packet (sent 2 weeks before the semester starts)
  • Step 4: File your Notice of Intent (instructions are included in the Welcome Package)

Are scholarships available?

Yes. We offer a limited number of need-based partial scholarships (25% to 50% off). You can apply using our scholarship form.

Final Thoughts

If you’re looking for something between full-time school and full-time homeschool, LV Muslim Microschool may be exactly what your family needs.

We combine the best of both:

  • And an education grounded in deen, belonging, and excellence
